About ExifZero

ExifZero answers two questions about any image: what is hidden inside this file? and how do I get rid of it? It reads EXIF, XMP, IPTC, ICC, PNG text, comments and C2PA Content Credentials, explains which parts concern AI labelling and which concern your privacy, and writes a clean copy.

Principles

• Private by design. Files are processed in your browser. There is no upload endpoint to leak from.
• Lossless. For JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF we cut metadata out of the file structure instead of re-encoding the picture.
• Honest results. We report what the metadata says and are clear about what it cannot prove.

How we are funded

The site is free and supported by advertising. Ads are clearly marked and kept away from the tool's buttons.
